Sterling Anderson

Sterling Anderson is the incoming Executive Vice President of Global Product and Chief Product Officer at General Motors, splitting his time between Mountain View, California, and Michigan. Previously, he co-founded Aurora Innovation in 2017, serving as Chief Product Officer and leading the 2025 launch of America's first commercial fully driverless trucking service along the Houston-Dallas route in Texas. Earlier in his career, he directed the Tesla Model X program and managed the launch of the automaker's foundational neural network-based Autopilot system. He holds a doctorate and master's degree in robotics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he developed the Intelligent Co-Pilot system, alongside a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University. His professional background remains focused on advancing autonomous vehicle technology, robotics, and software-defined automotive product development for safer transportation.
