Steve Beck

Steve Beck is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Novastar Ventures, a venture capital firm based in London, United Kingdom. He previously spent 18 years in management consulting, holding leadership positions at Gemini Consulting and Monitor Group to advise Fortune 200 companies on corporate strategy. In 2002, he transitioned to philanthropic investment banking by co-founding Geneva Global, later establishing SpringHill Equity Partners in 2009 to back African enterprises like NewGlobe and Sanergy. At Novastar Ventures, Beck manages $200 million across two venture funds, having backed 25 companies across sub-Saharan Africa. He holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Stanford University and a doctorate from the London School of Economics. His current focus centers on funding early-stage entrepreneurs who are developing innovative business models to address social and environmental challenges in emerging African mass markets.
