Steve Martocci is a tech entrepreneur and active angel investor currently based in New York City, New York. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Carnegie Mellon University before taking on engineering and product roles at early internet firms. Martocci is best known as the co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Meetup.com, where he served from 2002 to 2015 and scaled the social platform to over 40 million users and more than $100 million in annual revenue. Following the platform's acquisition by WeWork in 2017, he joined the acquiring company's board of directors and later shared his expertise on community technology at TechCrunch Disrupt in 2022. Today, his primary focus remains on funding and advising early-stage consumer internet startups, social networking platforms, and digital marketplaces through his personal investment portfolio.
