Steven Sinofsky

Steven Sinofsky is a General Partner at Founders Fund based in San Francisco, California, where he invests in early-stage technology startups. Prior to joining the venture capital firm in 2023, he spent over two decades at Microsoft, culminating in his role as President of the Windows and Windows Live Division from 2009 to 2012. During his engineering and product tenure, which began in 1989, he oversaw major operating system initiatives across the Windows and Office ecosystems. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University, and he recently published the book "Hardcore Software" in October 2024.
