Steven Trieu

Steven Trieu is a Principal at Precursor Ventures based in San Francisco, California. Before joining the firm's investment team full-time in 2025, he served as a group partner and analyst at Y Combinator, where he evaluated early-stage technology startups. Prior to his transition into the venture capital industry, Trieu held operational and product management roles at prominent consumer technology companies like DoorDash. The Stanford University computer science graduate has backed more than 50 startup companies at Precursor, bridging his technical expertise with early-stage investment strategy. His notable portfolio investments include enterprise AI search platform Glean, which reached a $4.6 billion valuation following a $260 million Series F funding round in 2024. Trieu currently focuses on sourcing and supporting pre-seed and seed-stage founders who are building enterprise software across artificial intelligence, developer tools, and fintech.
