Taavet Hinrikus

Taavet Hinrikus is a Partner at Plural, an early-stage venture capital fund, and is currently based in the United Kingdom. Prior to transitioning into institutional venture capital, he served as the first employee and Director of Strategy at the telecommunications application Skype until 2008. In 2010, he co-founded the financial technology company Wise, where he acted as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, ultimately guiding the enterprise to achieve Europe's first direct public listing in 2021. As an active angel investor for well over a decade, Hinrikus has completed more than 100 early-stage investments, building a portfolio that includes prominent European technology startups such as Bolt and Starship Technologies. His current professional focus centers on backing ambitious founders who are developing scalable global solutions across the financial technology, mobility, identity verification, and robotics sectors.
