Taizo Son

Taizo Son is the Founder and CEO of Mistletoe, as well as the Japan Chairman of Visionnaire Ventures, operating primarily between his bases in San Francisco, California, and Japan. A serial entrepreneur, he previously founded the gaming company Gungho Online, which completed its initial public offering in 2005, and established the startup accelerator MOVIDA JAPAN in 2009. Son has also launched several other notable technology ventures, including TechnoBlood in 1999, LEOMO in 2012, and the agricultural technology firm Plantio in 2015. Through Visionnaire Ventures, which he joined as Chairman in 2013, he oversees strategic early-stage and growth investments in prominent technology startups such as Zoox, Zipline, and FiscalNote. Today, his professional focus centers on supporting global startup ecosystems and funding entrepreneur-led transformations across diverse sectors like artificial intelligence, robotic automation, digital health, and agricultural technology.
