Tak Sato

Tak Sato is a corporate investment professional currently operating out of the MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. Prior to this transition, he served as the managing partner of MS&AD Ventures, the corporate venturing arm he helped establish after working as the parent organization's head of investments starting in 2017. During his five-year tenure leading the venture unit alongside co-managing partner Jon Soberg, Sato grew the corporate fund to manage $300 million in total assets. Under his leadership, the platform backed 88 early-stage technology companies and secured eight exits, including the 2021 acquisition of autonomous vehicle developer Voyage by the General Motors subsidiary Cruise. Recognized on the GCV Powerlist for three consecutive years, Sato maintains a professional focus on strategic corporate investments across the insurance technology, healthcare, cybersecurity, and mobility sectors.
