Tal Morgenstern

Tal Morgenstern is a Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners based in Israel, where he focuses on investments across enterprise software, consumer marketplaces, SaaS, and fintech. Prior to joining Lightspeed, he spent four years as an investor at Sequoia Capital from 2012 to 2016, helping lead the firm's consumer technology investments in the Tel Aviv office. Before entering venture capital, Morgenstern served as a special operations commander in the Israeli Defense Forces and later co-founded and served as the chief executive officer of a test-preparation company. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Tel Aviv University and earned a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. His current investment strategy emphasizes backing early-stage Israeli technology startups and identifying high-growth market opportunities led by unconventional founders over those with traditional pedigrees.
