Tarun Chitra

Tarun Chitra is the CEO and Co-Founder of Gauntlet, a financial modeling and simulation platform designed to enhance the economic security of cryptocurrency networks. Before establishing the enterprise in June 2018, he developed his expertise in high-frequency trading and scientific programming while holding technical roles at quantitative firms including D. E. Shaw Research. He completed his undergraduate education at Cornell University, where he concurrently earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Engineering Physics. During his tenure of more than five years leading Gauntlet, Chitra has published pioneering peer-reviewed research papers analyzing the underlying economic security of prominent decentralized finance protocols, specifically Uniswap and Compound. His current professional focus remains centered on applying advanced quantitative analysis and rigorous blockchain simulations to optimize risk management infrastructure throughout the broader decentralized finance ecosystem.
