Tekedra N. Mawakana

Tekedra N. Mawakana is the Co-Chief Executive Officer of Waymo, where she oversees company strategy, operations, and the commercialization of the Waymo Driver autonomous technology. Before becoming Co-Chief Executive Officer in April 2021, she served as the company's Chief Operating Officer starting in 2019 and previously as Vice President of Public Policy in 2017. Her earlier career includes executive and legal roles at major consumer technology firms, including eBay, Yahoo, and AOL, alongside time at the law firm Steptoe & Johnson LLP. Mawakana holds a JD from Columbia Law School and currently serves as a board director at Intuit, an advisor to Boom Supersonic, and a limited partner at Operator Collective. Her current focus centers on scaling autonomous vehicle operations, advancing global business policy, and supporting diverse technology founders through social impact angel investing.
