Thomson Nguyen is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Saga Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm. He launched the firm in March 2024 and currently manages its $125 million inaugural fund, which targets investments in artificial intelligence and foundational models alongside portfolio companies like OpenAI and Ramp. Before transitioning to venture capital, Nguyen founded and served as CEO of Nearside, a financial technology startup that raised $55 million before being acquired by Plastiq for $130 million in 2022. He previously founded the Y Combinator-backed startup Framed Data, leading to a 2016 acquisition by Square, where he subsequently worked as the Head of Data Science and Machine Learning for Square Capital. Following an additional role as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Kleiner Perkins, his current investment focus centers on early-stage technology companies solving complex problems.
