Tim Porter

Tim Porter is a General Partner at Madrona Venture Group, where he specializes in early-stage B2B software investments across the Pacific Northwest region. Before joining the venture capital firm in 2006, he served as a key member of the corporate development group at Microsoft. During his tenure there, Porter executed 14 strategic transactions valued at more than $850 million across the enterprise software, security, and mobile sectors. His earlier professional experience includes roles at Teledesic and Eagle River Investments, and his academic background features a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT alongside an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Currently, Porter serves on the board of directors for numerous portfolio companies, maintaining a primary investment focus on intelligent applications, cloud-native infrastructure, the modern data stack, machine learning, DevOps, and cybersecurity.
