Tim Rehder

Tim Rehder is a General Partner at Earlybird Venture Capital in Berlin, Germany, where he leads the firm's fintech investment practice. Before joining the firm as a Principal in January 2018, he founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of a European cryptocurrency exchange. His earlier career includes working as a Chief Financial Officer for an Asian social gaming venture and executing mergers and acquisitions within the investment banking division at Jefferies & Company. Rehder holds a Master of Science in Finance from the University of St Andrews and currently manages a portfolio featuring startups like Upvest and finmid. He recently led Earlybird's participation in a $3.2 million seed funding round for Porters in February 2026. His current investment focus centers on early-stage European opportunities across fintech, Web3, and future commerce infrastructures.
