Tim Shi

Tim Shi is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Cresta, an artificial intelligence unicorn company developing real-time intelligence platforms for contact centers. Before launching Cresta in October 2017, he served as a Research Scientist and Member of Technical Staff at OpenAI, where he co-authored foundational research on deep reinforcement learning from human preferences. Shi previously pursued a doctoral degree in artificial intelligence at Stanford University from 2015 to 2017 before leaving the program to focus on his professional career. His earlier technical experience includes deep learning research at DJI in 2016 and machine learning software engineering at Dropbox in 2015. In addition to his primary executive duties, he has operated as an active angel investor since June 2022. Shi maintains a specialized focus on applying generative artificial intelligence to enterprise customer service operations.
