Tim Tully

Tim Tully is a Partner at Menlo Ventures, where he focuses on early-stage investments in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and next-generation cloud infrastructure. Before transitioning to venture capital, he served as the Chief Technology Officer at Splunk, scaling the product team from 600 to 1,800 employees in under three years. During his tenure, he oversaw ten acquisitions and helped drive the company's sales revenue from $950 million in 2017 to $2.25 billion in 2020. His investment portfolio features prominent infrastructure and data startups, including early-stage backing for companies that were subsequently acquired by Databricks and Snowflake. He recently participated in a funding round for Inception, a startup developing large-scale reasoning models based on diffusion technology. Tully leverages his extensive engineering background and operational experience to support founders building the modern data stack and advanced developer tools.
