Timo Tirkkonen

Timo Tirkkonen is a Co-founder and Partner at Inventure, a regional seed-stage venture capital firm operating across the Nordics and Baltics. A physics major by training, he established his first investment vehicle in the 1990s before co-founding Inventure in 2005 to financially back and support early-stage technology enterprises. Tirkkonen specializes in deep-tech and R&D-intensive startups, notably serving as the very first institutional seed investor in the global food delivery platform Wolt. His extensive investment portfolio features specialized software and artificial intelligence companies like Detectify, alongside aiMotive, an autonomous driving technology developer that was successfully acquired by the global automotive manufacturer Stellantis. Drawing on more than two decades of board-level venture capital experience, his current professional focus remains on identifying science-driven founders and coaching complex technical startups from their initial seed funding through to strategic exits.
