Timothy Wang

Timothy Wang is a Managing Partner at The Westly Group, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Menlo Park, California. He began his career as an analyst at S&P Capital IQ before taking an operating role at ChinaScope, where he helped secure a Series A corporate funding round. After earning his MBA from the University of Southern California, Wang joined The Westly Group as an associate and was promoted to his current leadership position in the fall of 2021. As an investor, he led the firm's early backing of Luminar, which culminated in a multi-billion-dollar initial public offering in 2020. He currently serves on the corporate boards of several portfolio companies, including RapidSOS, Optimal Dynamics, and Aquicore. Wang primarily focuses his investment strategy on early-stage technology startups operating within the mobility, internet of things, and industrial sectors.
