Tom Mendoza

Tom Mendoza is a Partner at EQT Ventures based in London, United Kingdom, where he evaluates and executes early-stage fintech and cryptocurrency investment opportunities. He began his financial career managing event-driven technology and financial services investments at institutional hedge funds, including ING and PSAM. Transitioning into entrepreneurship in 2010, Mendoza founded and bootstrapped Tep, a mobile internet hardware and service provider for international travelers that he operated for eight years before selling the business to DHI in 2018. Prior to his current venture capital role, he directed the international expansion of HotelTonight across the United Kingdom and Ireland, ultimately establishing the travel platform's largest overseas market. Originally from Venezuela and educated in Boston, Mendoza's current focus centers on utilizing his decade of operational leadership and exit experience to back early-stage founders building financial technology and digital asset platforms.
