Tom O'Flynn

Tom O'Flynn is a Partner at Energy Impact Partners, a Board Director at TransAlta, and the Lead Operating Director at Dimension Energy. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AES Corporation from 2012 to 2019, driving a 54% increase in shareholder return while initiating the firm's renewable energy transition. Prior to his tenure at AES, O'Flynn worked as a Senior Advisor to Blackstone's Private Equity Group and spent nearly a decade as Chief Financial Officer of PSEG. He began his career with a fifteen-year tenure at Morgan Stanley, rising to Managing Director of the North American Power Group, and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago. His current focus centers on energy technology investments, grid resilience, and sustainable utility transitions, complemented by his role teaching energy finance at Northwestern University.
