Tom Staggs

Tom Staggs is a Partner at Smash Capital and the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Candle Media. He previously spent over two decades at The Walt Disney Company, serving as Chief Operating Officer, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Worldwide, and Chief Financial Officer. While leading the parks division, he oversaw 140,000 employees and doubled operating profits, and he helped execute Disney's major acquisitions of Pixar and Marvel Entertainment. At Smash Capital, he contributes to a partnership track record of over $4 billion in venture capital investments and $100 billion in control transactions, while also serving on Spotify's board of directors. Holding a BS from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Staggs focuses his current executive leadership and investments on the entertainment, media, and consumer brand sectors.
