Tony Sheng is a General Partner at Bain Capital Ventures based in San Francisco, California, where he invests in early-stage enterprise software and artificial intelligence. Before joining the firm in 2024, he served as a Partner at New Enterprise Associates and held product management and strategy roles at Palantir. Sheng has backed more than 30 companies throughout his venture capital career, with his portfolio featuring notable technology unicorns such as Snyk and Cockroach Labs. In March 2026, he led a $150 million Series D investment in the AI coding startup Replit. The Harvard Business School graduate also publishes industry research, including a recent report on the future of developer platforms. His current focus remains on guiding founders through the scaling process across the Seed to Series B stages within the AI infrastructure and cybersecurity sectors.
