Torben Straight Nissen

Torben Straight Nissen is an Executive Partner at Flagship Pioneering and the Chief Executive Officer of Repertoire Immune Medicines. Before his current appointments, he served as the Head of Strategic Portfolio Management for Pfizer’s worldwide research and development division, where he oversaw more than 300 programs from discovery through Phase 2 clinical trials. His prior executive experience includes tenures as the Chief Operating Officer at Ascendis Pharma and leadership roles at Rubius Therapeutics and Generate Biomedicines. He holds a doctorate in molecular biology and biochemical engineering from the Technical University of Denmark and is a co-inventor or co-author of over 100 patents and scientific publications. Nissen currently focuses on advancing T-cell immune medicines and preemptive health strategies, recently guiding Repertoire through a strategic partnership with Bristol Myers Squibb to develop tolerizing vaccines for autoimmune disorders.
