Vivek Mehra

Vivek Mehra is a Partner Emeritus at August Capital based in San Jose, California. Before joining the venture capital firm in 2003, he co-founded Cobalt Networks in 1996, serving as the company's Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Product Development. He operated as a General Partner at August Capital for fifteen years, managing investments across multiple funds before transitioning to his current emeritus status in 2018. Throughout his two decades in venture capital, he has directed capital into enterprise software and infrastructure startups, holding board and advisory positions at technology companies including RetailNext, Mavenir Systems, and B-Yond. Alongside his ongoing affiliation with August Capital, he maintains an active portfolio of independent seed investments in emerging startups like Last Energy. Mehra currently focuses his advisory work on founders building IT infrastructure, data center technologies, and SaaS platforms.
