Vivek Sivathanu

Vivek Sivathanu is a Vice President on the Private Equity team at OrbiMed Advisors, where he focuses on venture capital investing, company formation, and operations within the life sciences sector. Prior to joining OrbiMed, he covered the biotechnology industry in equity research at Evercore ISI and developed commercial strategies for biopharma and medical device companies as a management consultant at Simon-Kucher. Sivathanu combines his financial expertise with rigorous scientific training, holding a PhD in bioengineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BTech from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Throughout his academic and professional career, he has also authored several original research articles that were published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. His current private equity investment focus centers on corporate development, strategic planning, and operational growth across the biotechnology, medical device, diagnostics, and broader healthcare technology industries.
