William Barthell

William Barthell is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Janet AI, an artificial intelligence software company based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2025 alongside Adhit Sankaran, the four-employee startup develops AI-native product management platforms and is backed by Y Combinator, Formosa Capital, and Paul Graham. Previously, Barthell served as the founding engineer and first employee at an undisclosed cryptocurrency startup, where he designed a novel algorithmic automated market maker for Solana token trading. During his tenure at the blockchain firm, he directly engaged with venture capitalists and investors to help secure more than $3 million in initial seed funding. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Barthell currently focuses on building advanced artificial intelligence infrastructure to streamline complex workflows for technical engineering and product management teams.
