William Dai

William Dai is the Founding Managing Partner of ShangBay Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Palo Alto, California. Since establishing the firm in 2015, he has directed investments into 60 portfolio companies specializing in medical devices and medtech. Under his leadership, the firm has achieved multiple successful exits, including the 2019 acquisitions of NeuroVasc and Arrinex, the latter of which was purchased by Stryker. Prior to venture capital, Dai accumulated over two decades of corporate finance and capital markets experience, serving as Chief Financial Officer for Boston Scientific China, ShangPharma, and Microport Scientific Corporation. He began his career as a Finance Manager at Ford Motor Company after earning a Master of Business Administration in finance from Michigan State University. His career centers on leveraging extensive cross-border financial expertise to scale emerging medical technology enterprises.
