William Hurley (whurley)

William Hurley, known as whurley, is the founder and CEO of Strangeworks and a General Partner at Ecliptic Capital, based in Austin, Texas. Before his current ventures, he founded Chaotic Moon Studios, which was acquired by Accenture in 2015, and co-founded the fintech platform Honest Dollar, which raised $3 million before being acquired by Goldman Sachs in 2016. Following the Honest Dollar acquisition, Hurley served as a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, drawing on his earlier career experience as a technologist at Apple and IBM. At Ecliptic Capital, he co-manages a $125 million venture fund targeting seed and early-stage startups, while concurrently leading Strangeworks following its $4 million seed funding round. His current professional focus centers on advancing commercial quantum computing infrastructure and providing venture capital to emerging technology ecosystems across the United States.
