William R. Brody

William R. Brody is a Venture Partner at Catalio Capital Management, where he focuses on biotechnology and medical device investments. Prior to his current investment role, he served as the President of both Johns Hopkins University and the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, following his medical and doctoral training at Stanford University. As an entrepreneur in the diagnostic imaging sector, he co-founded five companies, including Digirad, Resonex, and Biopsys Medical, which were subsequently acquired by Agfa, GE, and Johnson and Johnson, respectively. His extensive corporate governance experience includes serving on the boards of directors for major publicly traded healthcare and technology corporations, such as Medtronic, Novartis, and IBM. Elected to the National Academy of Medicine in 1992, Brody leverages his dual background as a physician and academic executive to guide emerging healthcare technology and diagnostic enterprises.
