Wretch Chien

Wretch Chien is a Principal at AME Cloud Ventures in Palo Alto where he invests alongside Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang. Before entering venture capital, he founded the Taiwanese blogging platform wretch and scaled it to six billion monthly page views prior to its 2007 acquisition by Yahoo. Following this successful sale, he spent four years managing global user generated content teams at Yahoo before earning his MBA from Stanford University. He now helps manage an impressive seed to later stage portfolio that includes 16 unicorns and has generated 16 IPOs and 83 acquisitions to companies like Slack and Okta. His current investment focus targets white space innovators across artificial intelligence, aerospace, intelligent robotics, and bioinformatics, supporting a portfolio that raised over one and a half billion dollars recently and saw major liquidity events like the Eikon IPO.
