Xavier Ponce de León

Xavier Ponce de León is the Managing Partner at Ideas & Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Mexico City, Mexico. Overseeing more than $50 million in assets under management, he directs investments across the Latin American technology sector, building a portfolio of over 20 companies that includes regional leaders like Konfío and Clip. In the second quarter of 2025, he led a $10 million funding round for a Latin American healthtech startup and recently presented on artificial intelligence investing at the October 2024 Mexico VC Summit. Before transitioning to venture capital, he founded multiple startups in the financial technology and e-commerce sectors and earned a Business Administration degree from Universidad Iberoamericana. He currently focuses on accelerating early-stage software, education, and health technology enterprises while serving as an active mentor for founders within the 500 Startups ecosystem.
