Xiaoping (Bob) Xu

Xiaoping (Bob) Xu is the Founding Partner of ZhenFund, a prominent early-stage venture capital firm based in Beijing, China. Before transitioning to venture capital, he served as the Co-Founder of New Oriental Education & Technology Group from 1995 to 2005, helping build the education enterprise before its listing on the New York Stock Exchange. Through ZhenFund, which he established in 2011 in strategic collaboration with Sequoia Capital China, Xu has successfully raised $600 million and invested in approximately 400 startups. His notable early-stage investments include backing the e-commerce platform Jumei, which achieved a $4 billion market capitalization at its 2014 initial public offering. Educated at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada between 1989 and 1992, Xu currently focuses on providing foundational capital and strategic guidance to emerging entrepreneurs across the Chinese technology sector.
