Zaki Djemal

Zaki Djemal is the Managing Partner at fresh.fund, an early stage venture capital firm based in Berlin managing over €100 million in assets. Before venture capital, he studied computer science at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and worked in software engineering prior to co-founding Taxfix, serving as Chief Technology Officer for the tax app that achieved a unicorn valuation over $1 billion. Through fresh.fund, Djemal has built a portfolio of over twenty European startups, including recognizable companies like Choco, Personio, and Taxfix. He focuses on leading seed stage investments across the SaaS, fintech, B2B software, and developer tools sectors, recently co-leading a new developer tools round in early 2025. An active mentor in the European startup ecosystem, he closed the firm's €110 million third fund in March 2024 and spoke on seed investing trends at TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin.
