Based in Switzerland, ASTRA Therapeutics is a biotechnology company that designs and develops novel parasiticides targeting eukaryotic pathogens in the animal health sector. The organization utilizes its proprietary ParaX platform to generate species-specific drug leads, known as Parabulins, which inhibit parasite cell division while sparing host animals such as pets and livestock. Operating with a team of one to ten employees, the enterprise has raised a total of $9.87 million in venture capital funding to commercialize its anti-parasite therapeutics and address widespread drug resistance. This capitalization includes a $9.71 million seed round completed in July 2025 led by MIG AG under partner Andreas Kastenbauer, alongside earlier financial backing from startup accelerator Venture Kick. ASTRA Therapeutics was originally founded in 2019 by co-chief executive officers Natacha Gaillard and Ashwani Sharma before officially spinning out in 2022.
