Frederik Obasi

Frederik Obasi is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Prospa, a financial technology company based in Lagos, Nigeria. Founded in 2019 alongside Chioma Ugo, the startup provides banking and operational software solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises across Africa. Under his leadership, Prospa participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2021 accelerator cohort and subsequently secured a $3.8 million pre-seed funding round backed by investors including Global Founders Capital and Liquid 2 Ventures. Prior to establishing his current venture, Obasi co-founded StudySearch, an educational technology platform designed to connect African students with international universities. He currently oversees a team of approximately 70 employees who develop tools for invoicing, inventory management, and payroll processing. His career centers on building digital marketplaces and business-to-business software to address the operational challenges of underserved entrepreneurs in emerging African markets.
