Michiel Westerbeek is the co-founder of Tella, a Y Combinator-backed software platform that simplifies video creation and screen recording for remote team communication. Before establishing Tella in 2020 as part of the YC S20 batch, he served as a Lead Software Engineer at InVision. Previously, Westerbeek spent several years at Bynder, advancing through multiple technical leadership positions to ultimately serve as the Chapter Lead Front End NL and Developer Lead. His earlier professional background includes working as a Javascript Developer at Birdy and launching his first entrepreneurial venture as the co-founder of Kopie in 2018. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen, which he completed in 2013. Westerbeek currently focuses on building digital communication solutions that optimize asynchronous collaboration and video content creation for startups and small businesses.
